I had the rear end jacked up last weekend and while rolling around under the car I noticed I was missing a bolt for the rear spring plate. Semi elliptic circa 1965 springs. On further inspection I found the bolt that attaches through the plate on the rear was missing, not the ones that bolt from behind the seats to the plate. The remaining rear attachment bolt was also loose. I can screw it in and out, but can't torque it, just spins. Not sure how to approach the repair. Is the plate fixed/welded to the pan, or does it remove when unbolted? Can you use something like heili (sp) coils? Feels dangerous to have the spring held in place with only 2 of the 4 bolts. As always any thoughts are appreciated.
