Hey guys,
Well, my wife wrecked her motorcycle (She's fine), my motorcycle blew a cylinder (it had VERY HIGH mileage, it was time), she's demanding that we get rid of our gas-hog pick-up truck and so that leaves me scrambling to get the Midget back into shape as a daily driver so,...
I'm baaack!
My Midget spent the last two years in the garage after developing a worriesome noise. It had been a reliable daily driver up to that point. In the last two years it did get a new timing chain and sprockets, I just re-swapped a nicely rebuilt set of SU's for the hesitating Weber DGV and put in a Ignitor/Pertronix dizzy to go with the MSD and initial tests are promissing although I need some fresh gaskets in a few places before I can really tune the carbs and start driving. I'm not sure yet if the noise is still there but I also replaced the starter and noticed that the drive/pinion barrel was cracked through and made a rattling that sounded a bit familiar.
I think that although I used new gaskets/seals when I did the timing chain, I have a front seal leak so that may be next on the list. Maybe the manifold vacuum will be enough to suck in the drool.
Glad to be back!
