Plasti Dip Question

I think I know the answer to this one, but, just in case....

On the Vauxhall, I have two "plates" as my seat runner - one bolts to the car, the other to the seat and they sort of interlock and slide. Unlike my Midget, they have a plastic coating on them to aid the sliding. Unfortunately this coating is cracked and deteriorated.

This morning I opened a local car store flyer and they have Plasti Dip on sale. As I read about plasti dip online, it seems that it dries soft and therefore would inhibit sliding rather than help it - in other words, it increases grip.

is this correct? Assuming it is, are there DIY solutions that people might be aware of?

thanks all!

Plastic dip is for gripping not sliding. Look for some hard plastic pieces and attach to slides. Might be available at furniture makers.

JP, I know this is an older post, but have you thought of Teflon Slick Strips? Not sure if it's actually made by DuPont, but it's supposed to eliminate sticking sliding objects. It's 3/4 inch wide and 1/32 inch thick. Here's a photo of the stuff. PJ

Actually that is a great idea! I just stripped another GT and finally figured out how the pads even work. Thanks for this!
