Pair of old Bugs

Just brought the one on the right...the red one, back from Canyon Tx. on Saturday. Its a 63, undamaged and not rusted. Original except for a quicky paint job back in the 60s. Still 6 volt and has most everything with it. The two tone on the left is one I sold a year ago...highly modified and quick. Owner has to sell it as his Mom back in Kansas is in financial trouble. Fast and fun. Red Bug will get a total resto for the new owner who will return from four years in Germany in July....

No-rust '63 Bug... wow. Nice find!

Down here they're really rare now. Salt air is slow but insidious inland.

Nice one. I've a 1962 Bug myself - mine is little odd being a Canadian Standard (lack of chrome, fuel gauge, etc) and still on 6V. I recently got mine running after 25 years and bleed the brakes just today. Driving soon.

I've always longed for a stock pre-70s Beetle. Maybe someday. I'd even consider trading my TR2 project for a decent Beetle that diden't need much to be roadworthy.

I have a very nice unwrecked...no rust 67 Bug I may be passing on as a few days ago I reaquired a 66 Bus I used to own..then stored for a guy for two years and a few days ago got it back. I tossed a battery in it and fired it up. I'm currently doing my 57 A coupe, my two 77 B roadsters, a 65 Mustang for the wife and a few other projects so the 67 Bug may have to go or go in long term storage. Its original and could drive coast to coast. I bought it from the widow of a man who over the years had sanded it and then let it sit in his garage when he got sick. He passed and the wife pulled it out of the garage, installed new tires and sold it to me. The lites, brakes radio...everything works. Even the interior and back-up lites work(original bumper mounted). I gutted the interior and removed the bumpers and fenders....then along came all the other projects. 67 is a unique year of many first, last and only things. The 66 Bus has a rare 12 volt factory option and is also oretty much rust free except for an area on the passenger side floor which is commom and easily fixed...drove it yesterday and got some strange looks.

I get asked that alot...that is until they realize my work schedule.

Oh, I don't mind your work schedule, just thinking about the will, :jester: come to think of it, the will and you working yourself to death

All of which reminds me of the man who had lived a life he wasn't too proud of. Now he's on his deathbed and he calls in the preacher. "Pastor" he says, "If I leave a million dollars to your church, will I get into heaven?" "Well, I can't promise you anything" says the preacher, "but it's worth a try."

That reminds me of the one about the old curmudgeon who has one foot in the grave. He asks his beloved to put all his possessions and money in the attic so that as he passes, he can grab it on his way to heaven. 6 months later she is cleaning the house to sell it and finds his stuff and his money still in the attic. She says to her friend, "I KNEW we should have put this stuff in the basement!!"
