So first of all Doc, no more kippers? You've moved on to cheesecake now?

Anyway, the planes in the picture are part of Yanks and Planes of Fame project backlog. Yanks is mostly static display but Planes of Fame actually fly's most of their aircraft or keeps them in flyable condition. They both have bigger inventories than you can see from the ground, and yes, there are several chopped up F-4 Phantoms there.

Oh, th' kippers ain't off th' menu. Just that she assembled some KILLER cheesecake a couple weeks ago.
Topped off with a slurry of fresh blueberries and real whipped cream.

...now just a pleasant memory, tho.

I thought it curious that a group could afford to keep an F-4 in airworthy shape. Woof. We think LBC's are 'flinky'! Keepin' one of THOSE birds in shape would break th' piggybank quick!

thing about them little planes is you can't tell if they're buzzin the field or coming in for a landing. They do both at the same speed.

Have time in a J-3 cub. on a day when the breeze kicks up the LBC's on the highway out run you!

LOL - we went into "hover" mode in the Bird Dog yesterday, all of 25 - 30 knots over station. I went against all my prior flight training, I kept wanting to power up and put the nose down, but she was perfectly happy and controllable.

did the hover thing in the J-3,(for you non aviation types it doesn't look a whole lot different than Aeronca's airplane) an East Texas afternoon, pretty stiff breeze, and we just sat.
There's lots of fun to be had with an airplane you can leave to door open while in flight.
