Need help finding brake reservoir

Does this remote reservoir look like anything you have run across? It says SOVY on the lid. The sleeve surrounding the cork float disintegrated when I tried to free the float. I need it for a 1974 Panther, but it must have been used on other British cars (I hope).

Check out the spares for a Volvo 444 or 544 they might be similar if not identical.

I believe if you look at an old jaguar xj6 parts book(back to the first models) you will find this resevoir. I used to have a 1976 Panther J72 and it had the same part. Good luck !!

Right you are! Barratt has it on their web catalog. Thanks a million. When did you have your J72? Just got mine about three weeks ago. Unmolested, but neglected, so I'm going through everything. Fighting with getting the pitman arm off the steering box today.

Glad to be of help !! I owned my J 72 back in the 90's. I bought the car with under 400 miles so it was very orginal..........I still have a few parts ad some orginal sales literature. I sold the car after three of four years and it was shipped to Europe where to my knowledge it still resides. I am sorry I ever sold the car. My car had the chrome beam axle and was equipped with a standard transmission with overdrive. Panther used the running gear from the xj6 which was available with the standard transmssion in Europe but not the US.
