TR2/3/3A Lucas Fog Lamp question:

Who would know where I could buy a set of "Lucas Fog or Driving Lamp Lenses" in "AMBER"?

If there is such a thing?????

Perhaps others will disagree, but I consider what's pictured in that eBay auction to be a "long-range" or "driving" lamp lens. Fog lenses are usually "fluted" as this one is described as not being.

Stateside, yellow lenses were "fog" regardless of fluting.
On the island, FogRangers were clear, heavily and oddly fluted. I am guessing the reason you couldn't get clear FogRangers as factory equipment in the US when they were popular was the clear versus yellow issue.
I know the Jag MK1 and MK2 did not come into US (Canada yes) with FogRangers nor 4-position headlamp switch.
My MK2 came from outside the US late in the game, and it has factory FogRangers and 4-position headlamp switch.
I have used mine in heavy fog.....and many decades of yellow foglamps on my flathead-equipped vehicles, and around here, I would MUCH prefer yellow over clear as far as usability.

Here are some clear FogRangers that I picked up somewhere.



I pulled these clear FogRangers off a Jag in a foreign car wrecking yard here in VA back in the early 80's. Figured they could serve as replacement glass for my other set if ever needed.

Thats exactly what I`m looking for. I have on my TR3 a Lucas "Fluted Driving Light & Non Fluted Fog Light". These are used for "Cosmetic" purposes only. Mine are`nt even wired. They just look cool. They would look better if they had an "Amber Tint / Glass". I wonder if one of those "Glass Tinting" places would simply "Tint" my lens`s?

Now there`s an idea!!

Russ, you've got it backwards. The "Non Fluted" lens is the long-range or driving lamp lens, and the "Fluted" (block pattern as Lucas describes it) is the fog lens. I won't enter the amber v. white (clear) debate, i.e., which is better for fog, but I've always liked amber in fog and similar conditions myself. You can get yellow bulbs for the fog lamp, and you probably could tint a clear lens as well.
