Hi all,
I am in the process of rebuilding my generator belonging to my 1967 AH. So far, all has gone well with the dismantling process and soon with the rebuilding with new bearings in hand.
But right now, I have one concern and mind you, I am not electrically savvy: The car had idled with no problems (except an Ignition light always being dimly lit). When I originally removed the generator, I noticed how it is designed to receive two electrical female connectors. The (wider) one was connected but a smaller one was not. At the moment, I don't know if this was simply a blunder from the previous owner or if there is a real reason for not being connected.
The only thing I can think of that should be mentioned is the battery has been changed to being negatively grounded. Any relation and any other thoughts??
I would like to reconnect the second connector when I do reinstall the generator but need I be concerned?
Thanks for any input!
Paul
