Installing Electronic Distributor

Hello,

I recently order an electronic distributor for my Healey and I have some questions. I removed the old distributor and followed the video from moss motors. I can connect all wires except for one. The current vacuum pipe does not fit to the new distributor. What do I do?

Thank you

You might use a short piece of small rubber hose.--Keoke

I got small rubber hose and it looks like its going to work . Just to make sure I connected the black wire to the ignition wire which looks like the wire that was going into the coil and black wire with white tracer to neg side of coil. Then I grounded out a wire to the positive of the coil. Is this correct?

Thanks

I think I'm having issues with spark from the distributor. I have gas going into the carbs and all seals are good NO leaks. Now, I need to test for spark from the distributor.

I placed the spark on top of the engine and turned the key and NO sparks are coming out.

Does anyone know the proper install on this electronic distributor? What wires do I connect? I think I might have the set up wrong

Thank you

It would help if you told us which dizzy you had. Off the top of my head, there are four electronic distributor setups for the Healey. Hard to believe for this old car.

I have been using the " flamethrower " distributor for a while now and it has worked flawlessly.
...
I hope your car has been converted to negative ground because that appears to be the kind of distributor you have from the red and black wire colors. If your car is still positive ground this particular distributor may not work in combination with a POS ground car. I would check with Moss to see if it can be used if the wire connections are swapped around if your car is still positive ground.

My car is negative ground.
The black wire from distributor goes to the " - " connector of the coil. The white with black tracer wire connects to the same place.
The red wire from the distributor goes to the " + " side of the coil along with the white wire from the car.

The coil case must have a good connection through ground to the engine block in order to complete the high voltage side of the ignition circuit.

As a test, disconnect the white with black tracer wire from the coil in case your battery cut off switch is bad and grounding the coil through the white with black tracer wire.
If it starts working then your battery cutoff switch is bad.

That sounds right. Here is a wiring diagram from the Pertronix sight. Looking at the photo in their catalog, it appears they have the original Ignitor in that dizzy.
