Hi out there- I think I may have turned up an early A-H BN1 adjustable wheel- does anyone have any quick measurements, good photo references, etc. that will help me in IDing it?
Cheers,

i didn't think the adjustables came on the BN 1's, early or otherwise. Granted, i'm still "new" at this but...

My understanding is that the very early cars, prior to the introduction of readily adjustable seats, had an adustable wheel which was somewhat different than the later fitted wheels. Supposedly, it was then unavailable for a while. I'm more familiar with MG, TR, and Jaguar stuff- the earliest Big Healey I've had was a BT7. Always trying to acquire more knowledge, though!

I've read it was a rare option on the early cars. Editor, or others will know.

The "book" says the early BN1's built May 1953 thru December 1953 had adjustable steering columns. The "concours" guide says the same.

The car number would be in the range from 138031 to 149930.

Thanks , Frank- that truly is worth a thousand words. I believe that's the best I dug out of the stack.
Cheers,
Craig

Mines a Nov 53 car, does yours have a black wrinkle finish to the dash also? and your photo does not show the chrome expanding metal sheathing behind the adjusting nut that hides the splines
cheers
