Factory MK1 Hardtop

I recently bought a hardtop in Toronto. JP collected it and put it on a Greyhound in Syracuse for me. It arrived in good condition last night.

Harware is all there and in excellent condition as are all the seals and trim. :banana:

Original triplex glass with first quarter 1963 date code.
Even the original side window seal webbing is in excellent condition (a bit faded though).

Me too. Too cold to do it now, but I am goint to "store" it on the car until spring when I can start getting it ready to repaint.

Very nice Bryan. I have a similar top, but it lacks the front clip hardware that attaches to the top of the windscreen frame. Is the forth picture in your post a photo of the proper hardware for the front clamp? If so, could you provide a side view of one of the clamps, so I could try to get somthing fabricated?

No Problem. I'll get some pictures and post later with measurments. I'm not at home right now though.

Here ar some side view pictures of the brackets and mounting bolts showing curves and bends.

Length of the long part of the bracket bracket it 2.75 inches
Length of the short part is 1/2 inch
Width of the bracket is 1"

I have been searching for a set, not knowing what they look like, in fact I have a set of clamps (XHOD153) from AH Spares that will not work for my hard top, if anybody needs them. The set you show, Bryan seem fairly easy to fabricate. Thanks again for taking the time to post the pictures.

If they are for the bugeye top, they may not work with the Midget top. The bugeye and MKII Sprite ones were longer and more curved, I think.

That is the problem with the clamps that I have now, they are too curved to fit the top that I have. They also work as a "over-center cam" clamp, where as the clamps shown in the picturs are staionary, they just screw into place. I always like simple is better.

I will get some photos of the clamps I have posted, in case anyone following this needs them. I'm out of town at the time so it will be a couple days.
