Ever seen this ? - early wire hubs for drum brakes

I have this Bugeye with what looks like very early wire hubs on the front, 12 threads per inch, for drum brakes. The drum bolts to the hub via threaded holes in the hubs. I guess I have only seen the 8 tpi hubs with studs for disc brakes.

The rear has bolt on adapters with 12 tpi hubs.

All wheels are with non radial tires, must have been a roller skate with these tires !

Cheers
Lew

Lew,

Looks to me that someone made their own conversion out of some rear axles.

P.S. I hope you are not using that cinder block to support the car. Very unsafe!

Slow. Had a Bugeye build get in the way which shipped to Australia in April, so now back on the Sebring. It's the fastback version, almost ready to bond the fastback to the body, which is a Mk IV Sprite donor, but I have replaced various panels including the A pillars, scuttle and the left hand fascia so that it takes a Bugeye column, new front inner guards, as well as the Bugeye outer wheel arches and the B panel . Its been a real problem adjusting the fastback body to sit flat where the B pillar meets the rocker panel, can't seem to get the rear body high enough, but the bugeye wheel arches are aligned correctly on the inner wheel arch. At this stage I am planning to either belt the inner guard so that it is a little higher allowing the rear body to lift higher, or possibly adjust the door edge to get an acceptable gap. I did have an album up on spritespot, but I can no longer access it for some reasons. Maybe it will work for others. See pics at

I see...looks a little more complicated than I originally expected.. From the distance the trial fit looks good.

I have an early MGB banjo rear that looks like that, but the drums look a bit larger. PJ

Lew,
from memory they look the same, but I'll post a picture when I get home. Thanks for the heads up on the dash!
