Any machine shop with pipe bender tools should be able to make you one. If you can't find one, I know a guy who can probably help you out.

I just when with the MGA line on a 948cc Bugeye engine. That one has two threaded ends. There are others available that has threads only on one end.

thanks guys!! dave, good to hear from you my friend. i might just take you up on that offer if i can't figure something else out. i'm continuing my research to possibly see if i could fit a cheaper, aftermarket type of line because, after all, i'm a broke college student and this car ain't hittin the concours anytime soon so authenticity isn't exactly high on my list right now...just "drivability."

On my '69, I used a rubber vacuum line without the fancy fittings on either end and cut it down to fit. Amazing how much nicer the motor ran with a vacuum line that wasn't leaking.

It looks just like 1/4" tubing, but its black. At least that's the way it is on my car. :peaceful: . IIRC I have a barbed fitting on the vacuum unit for just such an adaptation.

Here's a couple of pics from my abortive attempt to put open air cleaners on the Sprite, but they show the vacuum line. I have rerouted it so it doesn't pass through the middle of the spark plug wires. Nothing fancy, just a black hose.

I routed mine the same way as the hard pipe that's being looked for. .... I asked someone at the time who knew if length mattered. NOPE.
