Hey Guys,
Has anyone been having problems with ordrering parts from British Victoria ?I just received a fuel pump from them for a BN-4.What's got me burnt, is that I ordered one for a 65 AH 3000.This is the second order that they have gotten wrong with me .Is this normal procedure with them, or am I just having a streak of bad luck.Do you guys think that Moss is the place to buy parts? Being new to this restoration mode is a little frustrating.I was real close to installing this pump.Anyway,I would like to know what you all think is the most reliable vendor. Thanks gang.

I have had problems with many of them from time to time, it's not just VB. VB admits that they offer no technical advise so it's a little harder.

You can try Moss Motors, British Car Specialists, Denis Welch UK, AH Spares UK, SC Parts UK, Hemphill's Healey Haven, & Healey Surgeons, to list a few. I have used them all & usually have pretty good results "most" of the time. The last two are more on your side of the country & for this reason might be easier to work with.

I'm trying to be tactful & not get into a public vendor flogging match which would get us scolded or banned from the forum.

Thank you Dave. "Vendor bashing" is a no-no, as you know. Perhaps Bobby R is new enough that he doesn't know, and hasn't closely read the rules here.

My advice for such situations is always the same: Deal directly with the person or business with whom you have a problem. Talking about it here is guaranteed NOT to solve the problem, and it serves no good purpose. It is interesting how the people who bring up these incidents here use the same technique of asking if others have had the same problem. It looks to me like what they are really up to is trying to drag a vendor's name through the mud as a way to vent their frustration.

My question to these people is, What difference would it make if you did, or did not find others who have encountered a similar problem? To solve it you STILL need to contact the person or vendor with whom you have a problem.

As the Moderator of this part of the British Car Forum, I have dealt with these situations before. A couple of times people have actually gone away mad, but not before trying to override me by going directly to the BCF owner-operator, Basil. You're welcome to contact Basil at any time about anything, but trust me when I tell you that I'm the "good cop" in these matters, and if you think I enforce the rules too strictly, well... just go ahead and try Basil.

Thank you for your compliance with the BCF rule of no vendor-bashing, and please accept my personal recommendation to solve your vendor problems directly with the vendor.
