Not 100% sure about as late as '79 Lou, but, for essentially all of its history radio, antenna and presumably speakers, were a local dealer option, so, don't assume there was a "standard factory model."
thanks JP! I got the radio, just ordered a new whip antenna and cable, but the speaker was inside the console and someone ran cheap speaker wire and CRUUUUMMMMMY speakers which sat in the back of the car. I gotta find a specker that will fit in that console. Anyone got any ideas? Im assuming somehting rectangular or oval..
I can look but I suspect any cheap radio shack and/or surplus electronic store would have what you need. I actually ran two small 2 way speakers behind the grill - not very loud though.
Dave - checked VB and no dice
JP - we thoguht of that! Even speakers for an ipod or somethign woudl be ok if I coudl split the wires to go to the radio the proper "1979" way
Unfortunately? Unfortunately! You want an accurate resto don't you? Every car has to have duct tape somewhere, or it isn't correct. Likewise, every (LBC) car needs to have a piece of Meccano somewhere - mine is on the throttle linkage!
lol...good point JP and thanks for the support!!. It does at least look original! I got my "new" wiper motor today. I ordered it before i relaized there was a place in toen that could get me the brushes. So i'll probab;ly get the new brushes, repair it then keep it as a spare or offer it for someone on here that might need one.
