OK, I give up.... can someone please tell me how to get the windows and the window mechanisms out of the doors?

I have been trying a number of methods all of which get me too close to breaking the glass.

None of the books I have tell me anything about this matter so any experience you could pass on would be gratefully received.

Doug - I found a section in one of my books which purports to describe the removal of the glass. It wasn't entirely correct but gave me enough of a clue that I got the job done.

I am NOT looking forward to putting it all back together!

This was the last of the un-building tasks I had to get the body ready for painting.... whew!!!

Hi Al. It's great to hear someone else has an old upright. I have a 1948 Prefect partially restored and waiting for a new shop to be built. I have had the winders out several years ago to work on the teeth but darned if I can remember any details. Glad to hear you figured it out. Now can you send me the title of that book as I will need to remove all the glass to replace channels and felts, etc?

Just found this forum yesterday and hope to be around a lot.
