My son had one of these fall out of a Glider wing when he was pushing a glider out of its hanger. It went down his shirt and stung him on the chest.

Got 'em in the house here all the time. I understand they're not dangerous - or not as dangerous as the ones out west though.

It's not uncommon for all sorts of critters to find shelter from the hot sun by taking refuge in parked aircraft. Some years ago I remember reading about a glider pilot that had just released from tow and began hearing a "rattling" noise. You guessed it, he had a rattle snake curled up under the front seat... he kept his cool and landed the glider without incident. I just hope I could act in a calm manner and "fly the plane" if something like that were to happen to me.... :eeek:

Ever see the Movie "The Abominable Dr Phibes?" He sets out to kill all the people he blames for his wife's death. He comes up with all manner of inventive ways for his victims to meet their ends. In one scene he had placed a bunch of rats in an airplane which started crawling all over the pilot once he was airborne. (and of course these were hungry flesh-eating rats)

Vincent Price.

So, a momma scorpion & her brood of little ones all crawl up in this guy's suitcase in an airport & then, when he opens it, one of them zaps him? And he's from the same place as them? What are the odds? I mean, how many bags did they have to choose from?

Scorpions and snakes, just kill them, roast them, and eat them. Umm Umm Good.

Scorpions... too much work, not enuff FOOD. Snakes? Too many leetle tiny bones. :jester:

When the sun gets hot, you just have to find relief wherever you can.
