Z/S rebuild

I just picked up a 66 TR4A that has been sitting for 14 years. I currently have the ZS carbs off for a rebuild and I noticed in the kit the float bowl gasket is different. Any one else know what I'm talking about? I have some experience with MG's so I Strombergs aren't that foreign to me. Thanks.

After doing some searching it looks like the carbs were switched. Dash pot cover says 175CD-2 and I found that these are used on volvos. Hmmmm.

I'll post a pic of the bowl and the gasket in the kit.

Welcome to the forum. Unless you need to stick with the carbs you have, I recommend you try to hunt down some 175CD carbs appropriate for the 4A (or even go with SU HS6). The earlier ZS carbs in my opinion are simpler, easier to maintain, and for the most part problem free. They are different than the TR6 carbs in a few ways, one of which is they are a fixed needle design with adjustable jet underneath. Only occasional issue I've had is keeping the adjustable jet completely leak free but they only have two adjustments, idle and richness so are as simple as it gets.

My concern right now is to get her running. Maybe later down the road I might do the SU conversion. I have the correct kit en route and the carbs dissambled and cleaned already. Crossing my fingers that she'll show some life this weekend.
