Your TR related New Year resolutions / goals?

My resolution (ie the big one) is to not buy any more of them!

Two goals;

1) Get both TR4As back into regular service.

2) Start picking at the TR3

What are yours?
 
Try to get paint on the TR3 before the hot weather returns, and enjoy the TR6.

Happy Hew Year everybody
 
Fire up the 3A engine (won't make 2010 but for sure 2011)
Get the 3A bodytub to the paint shop
Reduce my impulse spending on more TR bits
Go from 2 to 1 storage units
Continue to enjoy BCF but rehook internet into garage so I can work on the cars at the same time
 
Get sound metal in the body of the 3 and finish all the little bits I can by just making a list and doing it one job at a time.....

Oh yeah keeping up with other project on the forum to keep pushing me a long.
 
It seems like I always have TR resolutions. Before I carry those out, one goal I have is to sell off one of my three LBC's so i have more time to concentrate on the two I have left. As far as my TR resolutions, I just want to get my TR6 working great mechanically and back on the road again. It would also be nice to get the heater working and finish putting the dash area together.I think I have enough to do on the TR6 alone to keep my resolutions going for at least a few years. At least my car gets a little better every time I work on it.

How to spend another $3-4 thousand to finsh the TR6 restoration project without the wife finding out...
 
Lol Ray, I'm at the point where i'm very thankful there's no wife or girlfriend to be held responsible for my Triumph restoration costs. I figure by the time it's all complete, i'll have a total of around 20 grand into the car. Would I have been better off buying a fully restored one in the first place? probably, would I have had as much fun? not a chance!
 
Without a doubt...get the 3A on the road. I would really like to get it together by Mid May as our first official Club event is late May. The scheduled event is not too far from my home so if I have any bugs to work out it will be a little easier.....

After that...maybe a TR4 or 250...we shall see!

My TR8 is all done and in storage until next spring.

The TR6 is waiting for the garage to be heated and then there will be several projects taking place. Hopefully by the second week of January it will be heated and the ceiling insulated.

New HT starter.

G/P Triple carb heat shield. Two carbs have to come off to do the starter because I have headers installed, so that is the time.

EDIT: Nearly forgot the GP triple choke cable when the carbs wil be off.

New tail lamp sockets with new grounds.

Finish wiring the heated seats into the new harness.

Install new seat tracks from ARE when they are done and the seat wiring will follow that project.

I have a box of parts on my work bench waiting to be installed and I know there is more.
 
Find and repair oil drip at front of engine
Get turn signal to cancel
Build and install hi/lo beam switching relays (have components)
Refurbish and install my FIAM airhorns (nice!)
Install spin-on oil filter adaptor (have it)
 
Still working on the resolution/goals for 3 years ago.
 
Mine:

TR8 - Get A/C installed.
- Replace Steering rack (which just developed a MASSIVE leak).
- Drive it more.
- New tires & repaint rims (or get some VTO ones)

Spitfire - Replace crap exhaust system.
- Install a new convertible top.
- Insulate and install new carpet.

I've got a couple of items to take care of on the TR3...

1. Temp gauge. My home brewed repair gave out at the spliced solder joint. Probably due to vibration and flexing. It lasted a year. I've got a $20 Pep Boys unit in there now, and thought about giving it another go, but I think this time I'll just send the original unit out and get it repaired by the pros.

2. Readjust the body. The body is about 1/2" lower on the driver's side, and I'd like to correct it. Maybe some shimming here and there will do it.

3. Fix the drive shaft before I run into a problem. I've got the HDVA conversion in the car and only have the collar that Herman provided for locating the sliding spline on the shaft. Those that have done this conversion know what I have to do...either get a fixed length shaft made up, or as I'm thinking of doing, just weld the slider assembly and back part of the shaft together. I may not even have to take the shaft out if I do it that way. :smile:

Fix the AC in the TR8...again....now that I have corrected hoses.

Clean up the front bumper with a technique I found last week.

New exhaust for sure & new tires!

Hopefully more drive time in 2011. That interior project coupled with the surprise steering system rebuild really bit into the on road enjoyment this year.
