Tony this morning told me he does not have time to finish his midget do to family commiments (engine and tranny and testing) and is thinking about bringing it less engine and tranny.

Now is your chance to tell him to just do that. We want to see it. Sounds like a good car for the lobby as it has no fluids in it and will not leave a spot.

What you say guys? Speak now.

When I was in the process of restoring my TR3, I brought the frame that I had just finished cleaning up and rebuilding to the fall Nashville show - no motor or tranny. Had a ton of people check it out and express appreciation for seeing "just" the frame. Felt a little silly at first, but hearing such comments as, "Oh, so THAT'S how the spindles are mounted!" changed that around.

Absolutely! Someone at the show will need to see something that can be seen on Tony's car. And it is looking SO good!
 
Tony, do you have a trailer big enough for two cars? Bring the '63 and another one to drive.
 
Na, he does not but we can run Miss Agatha.
 
I'm working hard to get everything except the engine/trans finished (if I have time, I might install the grille even though it has to come back out)....long weekend babysitting grandson, 3 funerals since beginnng of March & now a wedding....kills my garage time!

My bodyman is coming over Tuesday to help me install the hood (I'm not gonna scratch that paint!)

I've a buddy who's convoying with us in his beautifully restored rubber bumper Midget...I can ride with him!
 
You should definitely do it, Tony. Wish I was going to be there to see it.
 
Bring the car and the engine/tranny and you guys can install it while you're there! Make a great how to for all to see. And do it right in the lobby, that way no one will miss the "demo"!!! :devilgrin: :devilgrin: :devilgrin:

One thing that I have discovered. My trailer is 20 inches high and open in the center except for a few cross members. It makes working underneath the car so much easier with that clearance should the need arise. It beats the heck out of jackstands cause the whole car is up. I took off my fuel pump and checke it the other day and it was a breeze. Might help if someone has problems as LOTO. Not much help for no motor in the car though unless you bring a cherry picker of some kind then you could put the motor in in the parking lot, Ha :wink:
 
If I had a trailer and something to pull it with I'd take mine. And it's just a shell.

funny you should mention that - I suspect it would be a relatively eassy mod to make a 4 post lift with a removable trailer as the lift part. - unbolt the axle attach to posts and Bob's your uncle. - especially for a guy like me who has no place for a trailer.
 
Haven't seen that, but I have seen a car on a trailer on a two post lift.
 
I have a folding 2 ton shop crane that will fit in my van. Just say the word, im sure you will have lot's of help!
