Your Favorite Parts Vendor[s]

Let's try this: Anyone interested is welcome to respond to this post by listing their favorite parts vendor(s), and the reason that they are your favorite(s), such as fast service, friendly telephone demeanor, knowledgeable sales personnel, best-quality parts, best prices, etc., etc.

Please limit your response to the vendor(s) you like best, and why. Please avoid mentioning any that you dislike or recounting any bad experiences. Just telling the positive side of the story will cover the subject.

In this way we can use the BCF to share our knowledge and experiences in a way that can be helpful to all, and that will avoid vendor-bashing and maligning those who are not here to defend themselves.

My first call is usually to Moss.

I've been dealing with them for very nearly thirty (30) years, and the good experiences far outweigh the bad ones (NO vendor is perfect /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif ).

I also rely on vendors outside the British Marque industry (for the British car) and Pegasus Racing has always treated me right too.
 
As with all vendors, if you have a problem as Reid states, always get in touch with the vendor and don't bother your friends with it. Many times it was just a slip up in the gathering of the order but keep in mind that it is always someone trying to help you with your problem. They don't stay in business very long if they are wrong. Be patient! As Garrison says: Be well, do good work and keep in touch. Pegasus Racing, VB, Moss and all the others; really, are great to work with. I, personally, am perfect, but that is just my opinion.
 
I've had good luck with Hemphills and Healey Surgeons. Always friendly, pretty good prices and someone who knows what they are talking about. And (being positive, if you get my drift) the parts I receive are correct and actually fit. Healey Surgeons is usually my first choice because their UPS ground shipping reaches me the next day.
 
I love Healey Surgeons. Inan and Bruce are just the best. There have been times when I have ordered something, only to have Inan email or call and ask, "why do you want that? It isn't right for your car. Of course, I will get it to you if that is really what you want."

I also have had very good luck with British Car Specialists.

Another vote for Healey Surgeons for all the above mentioned reasons. They are just very nice to deal with.
Limited experience with British Car Specialists and British Northwest but they have been positive.
I've also had positive experiences with AH Spares and Dennis Welch.
 
There are a lot of vendors I like

Little British Car Co. Moss Reseller and they will source parts from other suppliers as well at a little bit of a discount. Owner Jeff Zorn responds to e-mails seemingly as soon as you hit the send button, both inside andoutside of regular business hours.

Victoria British--Wide supply of parts and if you live in the middle of the country and are in the middle of a project its just nice to be able to get the stuff a couple days faster.

22 years of Healey ownership

Healey surgeouns is the best. One of the fallacies of british parts is that they all come from the same source. This is NOT true. I have only positive things to say about Inan and Bruce. They are also small business people who will go out of there way to make you happy.

Healey Surgeons. Very knowlegable. Has the good stuff. Ships out usually the same day, and their mark up, if any, on shipping is reasonable.

Yeah you can just give them Moss part numbers but get stuff cheaper. So why would you order from Moss? I especially like them since here in California I have to pay tax+shipping for Moss stuff. At Little British it is just shipping (plus the price discount).

The latest Moss sale is nice though... I'm tempted to make an order of some things I need in order to get some free stuff, like a Whitworth socket set.
 
In Europe AH Spares give me good service and promptly.
In USA I met Healey Surgeons, and was perfect service

Well Reid, I have to agree with all of the above. Most Healey vendors have us "club restorers" in mind when they started business no matter how long ago it was. Some perhaps stock parts that others do not. So I don't know any vendor that isn't always willing to help me out.
 
Over thirty-five years owning my BJ8 has put me into contact with numerous vendors. I started with Moss and have always gotten great service from them. I have had great luck with Hemphills, Healey Surgeons, British Parts Northwest and way, way back with Sports and Classics but I haven't dealt with them lately. The Nock's in Stockton have been friends and suppliers since the seventies for me and their advice has been wonderful - that also goes for Healey Surgeons and Hemphills, too. I have had very few problems with any vendor, but I have gotten to where in the last few years I am primarily working with the smaller companies as I love the "personal touch" you get with them. I haven't done business with "Little British Car Company" - are they on the web? I will have to try googling them.

Moss is a standby along with AH Spares, VB, Hemphills and eBay.
