After reading the New York Times article about the "advertising profile" being generated by our computer browsing habits, I decided to look up my profile.
www.Bluekai.com/registry/
(Scroll down to find your profile, it is divided into different sections such as "personal", " hobbies....)
According to my work computer, I apparently live in the UK ( not true) , personal computer has placed me in New York (not true but my overseas voting location is NY) , and apparently I have an apartment there.
I got 3 different estimates of income two of which put me in extreme poverty (I wonder how they got THAT idea! - I'm almost insulted!) and one estimate which was frighteningly accurate.
They also not surprisingly hit the age of my children, and that I am married.
I also think I deserve bit more credit than the HS diploma they credit me with.
The work computer shows a vague relation to my professional interests (actually considering the amount of on line research I do, they should have done a better job with that)
