Been picking at the pile of parts and am hoping you guys can help me identify which side screen is which here.

The choices are Bugeye, MGA and TR3a. I think anyway - ha.

Thanks!

Not sure about the first set. Second set (with flaps) are TR3 (aftermarket, due to the rubber around the metal frames.

First set looks Bugeye to me, Tom.

Do you have the mounting legs for them?

Hi Randall - I do, they are still attached under the curtain (rubber/plastic skirt). The skirts are torn from the heat.

Might be worth trying to recover them then, if they fit your car and you like the style. The rubber flap would engage a flap on the top as I recall, making them somewhat more weather-tight than the stock ones.

But I am guessing they are wedge style, from the LTD fastener on the flap, which means they would only fit TR3 through very early 3A.

Is there a VIN cut off, or date range for what should fit by chance?

SPC shows TS28826 should be the first car with the Dzus style sidecurtains.

Isn't lift the dot for later cars? Tenax would be earlier?

Tenax would only be much earlier cars, up to TS5255 according to the SPC. TS13571L has LTD studs on the doors.

The Dzus style sidecurtains didn't have snaps at all, they were stiff and held only by the brackets. But the bottom half of the earlier sidecurtains was flexible and secured by snaps.

Hmm, well, that applies to the factory sidecurtains. There might have been some aftermarket ones that fit the Dzus sockets but had snaps.

I've got the after-market style with Dzus fittings. They have lift-the-dot snaps around the edge of the flaps rather than the single inside fastener.

On most of the aftermarket wedge type side curtains I've seen, you can remove the piece of aluminum that is welded on the legs to make the wedge, then drill hole for the dzus to fit so you can use them on later TR3's. Personally if you are going to rebuild some side curtains use the original style. I have several sets if you want to rebuild some.

I have been thinking that those aftermarket sidescreens would be great to mount on a removable mount on the Racetorations competition sidescreens in bad weather. Racetorations.com
