TR6 Yes.....another TR6 tire size question

Alright folks,

I want to get better tire technology without losing the redlines. I would also like to get more rubber on the road without going to a lower profile tire. Aesthetically, I want the wheel wells at least as full as they are now with the OEM Michelin 185 75-15's.

I have seen forum members refer to their 205 75-15's but Coker Tires as well as my local shop says that they will rub. Coker offers a few sizes in a redline tire:

195 75R15, 185 65R15 and the 185 R15 that I am running now. I can't seem to equate the numbers to my aesthetic desires....anyone have an opinion on my best option here?

THanks,

Carter (dazed and confused)

There was a recent post where someone bought whitewalls in the size he wanted, and then used something to color the whitewalls red and looked good. I run 205-65-15 on stock wheels ( see photo below) and have no rubbing or clearance issues. I think they look fine, but your car -your preference. Tires are Multi Mile Grand Tour.

Also 205-70/15 with no rubbing.

I think it's the 215's that will give you trouble.

The 205's DO NOT rub. Unless perhaps your suspension is shot and then you need a lot more than tires, but I would be willing to bet that you'll be just fine with them.

Check out Rob's post. Very interesting indeed.

Non stock rims can change your thinking, as well as originality.

I've got 215/70/15 on stock rims on a tr6 without rubbing. There are others here who run the same size.

Looks something like Rob's above (no redlines though).

I think that these would be the max.
