Year model confusion

Working on my 77 and digging into the wiring problems that the car has had since the last owner had working on it and ran extra wires all over the place, this is what I am seeing.
Things on the car wiring wise seem to indicate it is a 78. In 78 they evidently went to electronic ignition. The engine has the earlier type distributor with points and so that must have been swapped or the entire engine swapped.
Does anyone know what VIN number started what model change over?

I had a '75 about 14 years ago and it had that Opus dizzy. It was dead even then and they were notorious for dying. I think I put a Crane on it, but swapping out to a 25D was also a solution as I recall running it that way for a while.
