I was warned that this was playing up. It kicks back when the pedal is pushed. How successful are the repair kits?

I've had about a 50/50 luck with building them. Is been awhile since I've done one, I remember the little valve in the end can be a bugger to get out. But that was a car that had been setting for a long time.

Purchase a new unit. Brakes are not an area to mess about with. I would do the master cylinder at the same time.
