XJS V-12 Cylinder Liner Removal

The factory shop manual talks about using cylinder liner brackets to keep liners in place. The reality is that the liners are such a tight fit after 50,000 miles or so that I can't get a damaged one out.I used an aluminum pipe and a sledge and was able to move the liner out one inch. I have beem soaking the liner block seam with penetrating oil. I can't seem to budge the liner any further.

Suggestions?

Has any one removed these liners before? I changed liners in a TR-4, but those liners were not near as tight a fit.

I need to order a replacement liner. A note in the manual says that the liners are either stamped in red "A" or in green "B" to denote the bore diameter. Can anyone tell me where to look on the liner for this?
