Does anyone know how to change a fuel Filter for a 1990 Xj6 Baseline. The fuel filter is underneath the left rear tire. Changing the filter is not the problem, how do I depressurize the fuel system and repressurize it when I replace the fuel filter? That is what I am really concern about. Any help out there?

XJ6Lenny:

Pull the fuse or relay to the fuel pump, let car run until it stops(no pump no fuel) system depressurized. Be careful and use rag at joints in case of some pressure. Change filter, then wipe joints clean. Replace fuse or relay, turn key to on a few times without starting or crank until started, system pressurized. Glad you're concerned of fuel pressure.
