XJ6 S2 vs. XKE S3 Mirror Cross-Reference?

Hello to All,

I am still searching for a NOS Driver Door Mirror for the '75 XJ6C. I have found a part number for the Series III XKE on one website that says that the mirror is the same as the one I need for my car. For some reason, the Series II XJ suppliers show the mirror as No Longer Available. Can anyone tell me if these cars shared the same door mirror, but maybe had different part numbers from the factory. I think it will be much easier to locate a replacement if I begin searching for a good used S3 XKE mirror since there is more of a restoration interest and a better supply of parts available for these than there seems to be for the older XJ's. Any help would be appreciated.

Brian

P.S.

Forgot to mention that the part number listed is BD47264 and it is described as "DOOR MIRROR LH(MANUAL)XJ S2 XKE V12". Unfortunately, it was sold one week before I called to purchase it. Thanks again for any information anyone can offer.

Brian, I can send you video of the series 2 or EType series 3 outside rear view. I canot figure out how to attach the video in this "add reply" but if you will give me your E mail addressI will send it that way. The cable control is about 6 inches long. My guess is that it came from a series 2 sedan because of the length of the control cable. The chrome, mirror and adjust mechanism are as new. If you are interested I will sell it at half price of the list since it is a used part. I will have to establish the list if you are interested. .

Brian, I sent the video to you Email address having found it in tdhe forum. Looki in your Email. Jack

Jack,

Thank you... I got the email and replied. Now I just need to know about the mounting hardware and missing gasket.... are these easy to find? I will check with the usual parts suppliers in the meantime.

Cheers,

Brian

Brian, I am having great problems with my E mail because of megaspam and a program to control it. I did not receive your reply. Either try again or use the forum. I do not have the gasket or mounting hardware. If you want the mirror sans the peripherals, establish a new price for the mirror with suppliers and deduct half. The mirror and chrome have no faults. I will ship for half of established price plus shipping. I hope this helps. Jack
