XJ6 engine swap into XK 150

I recently picked up a fuel injected 4.2 engine that had been rebuilt by reputable shop in Memphis, Tn. I know a person that has a XK150 drophead with bad engine. Engine is a 3.8 and not original to the car. To satisfy my ownself today I pulled the fuel injection system off and installed a Triple SU set up on it. fit perfectly. Put XKE exhaust manifolds on, perfect fit, install trans bell housing, same good fit. Didn't have motor mounts but engine bolt holes same place. Anyone know why this engine shouldn't be fine to use in the 150?

I would personally do the same. Basically same engine but cooling ports inside a different, I don' t foresee a problem if not going for concours. Still a XK 150 and he'll have one that only a Jag person would know different.

Try to use an XJ6 4 speed OD tranny too, they are way better than the Moss box. You can get them in the UK.

That could be hard as none of the US XJ6s had manuals. Might try the later 4.0L XJS, but only grey markets were imported.
