Tell me it is not true! Did the XJ6 ever come with a 3.4L motor? A guy on Jaglovers.com said he used the XJ6 pistons in his XK150 3.4L because the XK150 pistons were too expensive. If they are a reasonable substitute and available, I will do the same.

Yes, my book says "In April 1975, a 3.4 liter version of the XJ6 was introduced , using another version of the XK unit with the "old" 3.4 bore and stroke measurements of 83mm x 106mm, in a new block designed to use the same tooling as the 4.2 liter."

So there you go, I don't think it was ever available in the States, but it did exist.

You think thats weird, there was also a 2.4 in series 1 xj6s. Those cars must have been slugs.

The 2.4 made 180 bhp, which isn't bad. 0-60 was 11 seconds, and top speed was 127 mph. The 4.2 liter XJ6 only did 0-60 2 seconds faster (9 seconds)

Whoops!!! Sorry about that
