Is it supposed to be flat, semi-gloss or gloss black?

FWIW, mine is flat black, it's original, at the top, there is red paint hand brushed on for several inches.

I used gloss because it cleans easier but I'm not concourse. I've never heard of the red before??? Is it the same as the red above the fan?

Yup .. flat black .. brushed on at the factory on the lighter cars along with the lower rear shroud lip. The red on the X brace was probably a touch up. Perhaps they missed some bare metal on the chassis paint. I've read there was someone going around looking for paint 'holidays' and scrapes from installing parts. Some areas I've seen sprayed black (on a white car anyway) .. the footwell area where the panels don't cover the paint .. the sheet metal under the dash right above the trans tunnel. The inside boot bulkhead. The upper part of the gas tank fill pipe (sprayed over the plating).
