Yeah I got my truck back in the garage and the door closes.

Nunya's did you go with the single strut or the dual for the trunk? I did the single on mine and I am not totally happy with the operation of it as it's rather sloppy and jerky when your opening it. Front however is gravy. Also when you install the front passenger remove the fuse box install the strut as instructed, cut off the excess bolt with a dremel cut off wheel and your fuse box will fit in the stock location without needing to relocate it.

dual struts

Thanks for the tips, I'll keep them in mind while I'm under the hood poking and prodding around.

Crypty's still broke down and on blocks but
fishing yesterday was literally an explosion.

We were trolling for Snook when a Tarpon bigger than
my fishing buddy Tito exploded straight up in the air
with our bright blue lure in it's mouth.

A ten second battle ensued with the monster Tarpon air
dancing at the end of our light spinning tackle.

Mr. Tarpon then said adios and took our brand new lure
with him. A fish bigger than Tito!! Made our day.

Over here 'in the season' you need an aluminum baseball bat for tarpon. Durned things are THICK in the pass below Gasparilla Island and just about willing to jump into the boat on their own! We went slopin' about amongst the Tournament "fleet" a few years ago and those fish were wall-to-wall. Watched a woman in a small flats boat get hauled back and forth for an hour by one. Likely as big as her boat.

Not much on fishin' for tarpon; they're not food IMO and see no other reason to tease fish with a hook on a string. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

...I do my fishin' at Publix, thankewverrymuch. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

They love to do it for the "fight" Doc. that's all!!! Sorta like drinkin' near-beer if you ask me!!!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazyeyes.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

I had to work today (Sunday) but took a long drive yesterday (I had to go down to Oswego, so going on to Somonauk wasn't much out of my way).

Below is one of the old CB&Q signal towers, in Somonauk. Of course it's sepia-ed a bit, so it doesn't look sunny and clear! (It was a beautiful day, clear, 75-ish, light breeze).

Whew!!!
Saturday. primped the Bimmer for the carshow, then took the pack up to Watkins to watch the 6 hours Grand Am race. Alex Gurney was just a hustlin that #99. yeee hawww.
then today was the Warplane Museum carshow.
Took the wheels, yakked with friends, saw some rare stuff, and even got offered a position at a british car resto shop (Oh man! that one's gonna kill me)
We'll see what the future holds.
After the carshow I went and picked out a new BBQ grill for my birthday present, and we had BBQ chicken and roast veggies for dinner. Yummy!!!!
Now We're nursing our sunburns. hehehehehe

Got Sunday off so I went to the track for our open track day. Got to see someone pack his buddy's brand new (400 miles) Porsche GT3 hard into a tire wall. Oops!

Eh, I ended up relocating my fuse block. There's a bunch of unused captured nuts on my inner fender that the fuse block screws fit into perfectly. So, I just moved the fuse block to use a set of previously unused nuts.

yup! The only difference is it begins opening itself earlier than the hood does. I lift the boot lid about 3" and it opens the rest of the way on it's own. The props seem a bit strong for the boot, because once its completely open it takes more effort than expected to start closing it.

BUT dual struts on the boot lid is nice. It keeps the forces on the lid equal on both sides. If I had only one, I'd be forever fretting over whether or not the boot lid will twist over time due to the unequal amount of force it would take to close it.

I am going to my daughter's graduation from Oregon State. Can't wait to see her and the puppys again.
