Wuz up this weekend?

What's everyone doing this weekend?
The wife is away, soooo, whatever I want!
After I clean the garage, do laundry, vacuum, get groceries, fix the bathroom door, clean the kitchen and do my homework, I might be able to do whatever I want.

Gonna actually relax a bit...the division commander gave his soldiers the weekend off as they're deploying shortly after our training is finished...so, I'm gonna go in today to wrap up some loose ends & prep for Sunday afternoon when we kick off again...do laundry, put gas in rental car - that kind of stuff.

Oh, & breakfast at Cracker Barrel tomorrow morning - & dinner at Arthur Bryant's tonight!!

Going to the recycling center this AM.
Family and long-time friends get-together later on today.

Tomorrow help my parents move to their new digs in a retirement village (near Lakehurst....you can see the blimp hangers).

And I'm prepping the trailer: checking wires, lights etc. for an upcoming trip. Wednesday, I'll have a *long* day, towing out to near Akron, Ohio and back to pick up a free Escort GT parts car...I'll do almost 1000 miles that day.

I'll be going to World of Wheels car show today, amongst other cars (mostly hotrods and muscle cars) I know there will be a Triumph TR7 with a 283 engine making its debut after the guy just finished it recently...

Tomorrow? I'll hang out with one of my internet contacts who is in town for the car show, probably go on a photostroll together. I'm thinking of going to Nose Hill Park...

Finishing up the installation of new front brakes on the TR8 - larger vented rotors, Vitesse calipers, etc. Then, if it's not raining, will test 'em out.

Also have a new front spoiler to replace the original, which is dented. Need to drain and refill the differential, and change the oil. Plenty to keep me busy!

Finally putting Redline MT-90 in the gearbox and overdrive. What a pain it was to find that stuff. Simply not available in any local stores. Praises for that internet thing Mr. Gore invented!

I still have a bunch of "junk" from my "office" (formerly oldest son's bedroom) that is piled up out in the garage. I'm going to finally go through all that stuff and decide what stays and what goes, then put the stuff that stays in its proper home (once I figure out where that is). Then I will probably continue with cleaning the garage - it needs it badly!

Don't you just hate that chore because if you are anything like me you just move it around, make it look a bit neater and don't toss anything.

Yes! And the worst part is, it only stays neat for a short time and before long it looks just like it did before you cleaned up!

Picking up and installing a Jenair range in the kitchen. The old one gave up the ghost. Boy talk about lots of car parts, heck, cars.

Had a nice night of car activity last night. Today it's a recording session, gig, and possibly make it down to a car club party tonight. Sunday it's another gig. Busy weekend, was really nice to have a few hours to putter on the car last night.

Supposedly there's a friend bringing his Geo Metro (3-banger!) over for a clutch R&R... don't know a THING about Suzi Swifts, but it appears the lessons will begin today. Looks like we could just about pick the whole assembly outta there by hand. "It's Sooo Cute." Ugh. and I volunteer'd for this torture. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wall.gif

...He better have the thing laden with CAB when he arrives... likely one case would be a "capacity load" in it. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

Clear driveway with borrowed snowblower......take carburettor from my own showblower, strip, clean out, hopefully find all the parts I took out of it, reassemble, reinstall and hope it works.

Then I go grocery shopping, and wait for the second phase of the winter storm. 5" plus overnight, another 8" expected this afternoon through Sunday morning.

Sunday, I will go out in the hope that the snowblower will start, then in the afternoon I go to the Milwaukee auto show.

Cheeseburgers on the beach is an impossible dream, unless I go to the hardware store, buy a couple of bags of sand, get hold of a "relaxing ocean sounds" CD, crank up the central heating and send one of the boys on a drive-through run to Mickey D's........
