Really want 2" lowered rear springs, but I think I"m going to have to settle for another set of cheap stockers to play with my spring rate on my DIY packs.... (add a leaf).

Moss offers lowered 1/2 elliptic springs. They claim that they don't fit on 1500's, but I can personally verify that they do! As has been mentioned before, you can also use a hammer and anvil (and some heat) to 'shrink' the springs to recurve them. This is probably the best way to go if you're willing to take some time to make sure the left and right are even. That way you can play with the exact curve you want. I have a stock pair hanging around, but I might do this in the future, and am not ready to give them up just yet.

PS, if you've got the time, the DIY method is far quicker. Search for posts by Jollyroger to find the correct info (if it hasn't been too long).

I've done a DIY set but the way I did it resulted in a reduction in the spring rate (inverted the main leaf). I'm probably 3" lower than stock right now and the rear is a little too soft. Figure if I can add a leaf, I should bring it up a touch and stiffen it up a little.

I'd like the Moss ones but they're just too much $$$ for something I'm pretty confident I can dial in...

If I can find somone willing to part with their stockers, I'll probably add the second leaf to my packs and see what that does. I think it'll be just about right.

Why not just change the leaves back to stock and recurve them? This will restore your spring rate and still allow for lowering. Adding leaves will restore some of the lost spring rate due to the arches fighting each other, but it will also add weight. Why not just get that same spring rate back again without the weight?

"You can take the spring pack apart. Lay the main leaf(long one) inverted over the anvil or vise. Take a ballpean hammer and hit the spring where it touches the anvil. as you do this slide the spring back and forth while you strike it with the hammer. This will cause the spring to flatten out or uncurl. You can also add arch by turning the spring up(you know where both ends are up rather than down. Only hit the spring where it touches the hard surface. I use a vise and close the jaws. I use the area created by the closed jaws.
After doing this on the main spring to get the arch you think you need then do each smaller sping to match the arch of the first one. Warning,if you don't strike the spring just right it will rattle the handle a bit. Use gloves. It will take a bit to get the hang, but it work great and is cheap."

I didn't want to try this mostly because I don't have a good striking surface, but I might have to figure something out and give it a go as you suggest.
