aka 'the bird' goes to the garage.

Spent from 10am til 5pm at the shop today with Chuck working on Binabox. Didn't touch the engine (grrrr) but I suppose we got a lot done. ~shrugs~ Car's off the rotissiere and on 4 wheels now. 2 coats of paint, 2 coats of clearcoat and John sanded a bit on the hood (by hand) and the polished a small area to get a good looksee. Camera froze up on me, so I don't have pics of that, but I have some others -- later. I'm hot (92 here today), sweaty and HUNGRY!!! I'll post a couple pics later.

Chuck leaves Monday for a week or longer fishing. She'll be sanded and polished by the time he comes home and I'll have wheels, top, carpeting, seats, door panels, mirrors and a few other bits ordered and hopefully here when he comes back. Along with the last few bits that need painted. Then it's build the engine and drop it in, the tranny, and WOOHOO, downhill from there!

Oh, did I mention I have to do a lot of polishYUCKing while he's gone? And decide if the bumpers are salvageable (doubtful) or if I want them rechromed or order repros. And same with the grille.

Man, it was either clean house & do laundry or work at the garage. I'll take the garage any day!

Edited to add pics (my handiwork):

Very cool!! I hadn't logged in all winter as I was pursuing other hobbies and pursuing my Master's degree, so I was very happy for you when I logged in a week or 2 ago and found you up to your ears in a resto. I knew that you were looking last year for an addition. I have read up so far on it, and will be following from here on out.

There's a link in my sig with all the boring pics! And by the way, WELCOME BACK!!!!

how far back does that lower deck go into the grill area? I need to add that to my 3D MGB project.......

Anyone have any good pictures of that area of the car with the bonnet open and grill removed?

Thanks

Huh?

Rob, it depends on the year. I probably have an off-center one of mine ('64), but yours is different. Dunno if it would make a difference to ya for the project. Lemme know.

erm... sorry JB, I just noticed there's a deck going into the engine compartment from the grill area, and had to ask about it while it was fresh on me mind.

Bina's lookin' be-ay-you-tiful! can't wait to see the final product!
