TR6 WOW

Wanted to share my experience with this recently installed RATCO product.
My TR6 for all it's good lookingness and soundingness was really quite a handling dog. Brisk acceleration was accompanied by torque steer especially noticeable when shifting. A sharp dip in the road would cause a noticeable change in direction.
Cornering required constant correction to mitigate understeer. 4 wheel alignment did not improve things.

I first tried wider wheels and tires (7'). Ok somewhat helpful. Next, I replaced the front sway bar with the GoodeParts (7/8") unit. Nice looking and I would recommend it but it didn't change the handling in any noticeable way.

Decided to visit Carlisle this year looking for a rear sway bar that I could look at, discuss and touch.
There I encountered Tony Vigliotti with whom most of us are familiar as the man behind RATCO.
He had, on site, a rear sway bar and shock in coil setup. I bought the kit which included shocks, links, sway bar (3/4") and all necessary hardware for installation.

What a difference in handling! Set your line in a corner and the TR stays there (now with slight oversteer). Accelerate, go off throttle and shift, torque steer mostly gone.
A welcome change worth the time and money. I'm a believer.
Now if I could just make it stop leaking oil.

Tony developed that system shortly after the TR6 frames. He first installed it on his TR250, made some changes, and then had several members of our club (which he belongs to) try them out in their cars. It proved to be a winner. Tony's fastidious in his approach to things, and it shows in his products.

...and his product support.

Tosh,
Tell me about the color on your TR6. Mine was painted Chrysler Charcoal sometime in the late 80's, and I am leaning toward a medium silver/gray rather than a red.

Sure. This is a question I am asked more than any other. It's called Platinum Metallic. It is a TR8 color.
