Just finished setting up the Crimmus tree.

Normally we're in the 7' range, which isn't a big deal to manhandle in. This year, with the new house (and the 25' ceiling in the entryway) we decided to go with a 12'er.

Oof. The bloody thing nearly killed me when it rolled off the car roof. I foolishly thought I'd drop it onto a shoulder and carry it in...

'Er indoors was in supervisory mode so it was just me to get it up the stairs and on the stand.

After dealing with this and the 1st real snowfall of the year, I need a sit down and a beer. Xmas is too much like hard work...

Mehheh. 's why I'd rather visit the in-laws over Christmas. Let THEM play Paul Bunion and do all the work afore I get there... and after I leave. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

Sadly that's not an option. I drew the line at clambering on the roof to put up lights though, that was a recipe for disaster...

What? You don't want to imitate Clark Griswold?!

I must admit, I wimped out when we bought this house, and got a 5' artificial tree. Fits in a box in the basement, nice and light. No lights on the outside yet, too dangerous for me to try to finagle, and I never think of it when it's warm out. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

If they are empties, someone has had a VERY merry Xmas!

You start with them full, but have to drink your way down from the top until you reach the presents - by which time you're too sloshed to open them!

Hmm. That'll make the in-laws much easier to tolerate.

I need to do some field testing...

Thetsh a bootiful shrishmash tri! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thirsty.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thirsty.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thirsty.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

Not really a tree I'd recommend in my earthquake prone area, but I might make an exception. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thirsty.gif

It needs 3 more levels...then you could call it the "12 days of Christmas Tree" - 1 level per day loading up to the bid levels when you have parties!!

All you need is a visible shotgun nearby.
That way the neighbors won't even think about
complaining if you do something that bothers
them.
