Wow - Car #271 all aluminum on Ebay

[ QUOTE ]
Sounds and looks like a $10,500 car to me, It'll take $24,600 to get the restoration going.

Did he imply or state that the deck lids are aluminum? Or, is this presently unconfirmed?

At least $24,500. He did say it is aluminum uppers and fenders are steel. He has no idea what the car is all about.
Probably breezed through a Healey book and became an "authority".

Bidding is going great though. It is up to - let me check - zero. In a few years we may all kick ourselves and say "Geesh I could have had that for only $34,500" (or whatever reserve is now).

I showed my Healey this past weekend in a Concours...and a lady walked up to me and said she had two Healey's for sale...both projects...but one of them was "aluminum"...I had never hear of it...however a fellow from the local Healey Club said that they do exist...and are extremely valuable...wow...what a coincidence... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Healeys are "aluminum" - sort of. I guess the question is if the entire car body is aluminum and that is where it gets rare. I wonder if she thinks it is all aluminum but never checked fenders etc.

Cetainly better than the original $34,500 that then went to $24,000 with reserve and NO bids at all. Wonder what reserve is this time? Pictures all different also. Whole thing is strange.
