It was 24 degrees here last night. Snow forecast for tomorrow. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

It was 24 this morning when I left for work. Rain and a touch of snow forecast for later next week, which is a switch from usual Thanksgiving weather where we usually get blasted a day or two before. Funnily enough, last year we had a couple of inches of snow (a mere dusting to those of us man enough to....er....those of us used to it), but up near Madison at my aunt and uncle's farm, it was beautiful sunny, and dry. Hoping for the same-nothing makes the digeston work better than a tromp around the farm, and I often find things to point cameras at.

No pity here, Doc. Balmy 35* or so this morning up here in the mountains, scraped lots of ice off the daily driver in the dark before work. This is the last warm spell before it gets truly cold here.

Nope, no pity at all, whatsoever. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Geez Drew... I love ya like a brovver...

Just returned from a three-day trip to Honduras. Loverly down there - 78 during the day, and who cares what it was at night... just fantastic! Had supper outside each night at our favorite places. A feller could get used to that, I reckon.

Hi There Peoples;

What I would like to know is: What were the temps in the "GREENVILLE,SC" area; Day & Evening?

Dusting of the white stuff here in the Poconos & "TOO [censored] COLD" for me; Thats why I can`t wait to move to SC:

Hey; I have a really nice home here "FOR SALE" for those of you who may have an interest (CHEAP)!! (1/2hr. north of Allentown):

Regards, Russ

Hey Basil; Can I legally list my house for sale in the classifieds? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

You're welcome to visit anytime, Doc. I probably wouldn't recommend February, though. Last year we were down in the low (minus) teens.

Okay, I'm just a little jealous. I hate winter. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Yea Feb. probably wouldn`t be a good time for a "Fair weather bird" to come to Utah. Thats the month when we see ICE cold PIERCING winds that can even penetrate the finest Parka, Wool shirt and longJohns, to chill ones body down to the bones.
I, myself have thought about moving to South Texas or southern Ariz. during Feb. more than once!
Jealousy isn`t the word for it Drew!
It`s more like ENVY! Especialy when one has to go outside in Feb. to clear the snow and ICE off of ones driveway.

Well said. We get the winds off Deer Creek reservoir, blowing out of Provo Canyon. One of the reasons our house now has all new windows. Brrr!

Drew:
Usualy we have two choices out here in the Tooele Valley. Wind blowing North to South, Coming in off odf the G.S.L. {very cold} or South to North Not quite as cold but still miserable in Feburary. And with FEW exceptions. The NON windy days are FAR AND FEW between! Most days it will even change from N. to S. in the morning to S. to N. around noon.

As the Q&A poster read in Green River - cica 1977 -

Q - Does the wind always blow this way?
A - No,sometimes it blows the other way.

- Doug

We do get some non-windy days, so I'm really not complaining too loudly.

I was reminded a few days ago of just what a pretty place I live in. Walking out of the grocery store at about 6 pm I was treated to an amazing view of the ridgeline, crisp against the deep blue of a post-sunset sky. Fantastic. I'll put up with quite a bit of cold for that. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Just hit 40 this year so I'm neither old or young. The cold just does not bother me that much. Only when she gets down into the low teens and single digits do I really start to feel it. I don't wear my coat till it gets into the low 30's and normally I walk out the door in a short sleeve shirt on. Last winter I took the windsheild of my Bike and went to work. It was 23Âş and exhiliarting.

I'm with you on this (except the 40 thing-I'm a little younger at 33). Much below twenty and things stop working right. Like cars and noses.

Freind of mine moved here from Colorado, and she went on and on about "being able to handle winter cause I'm from Denver". So I told her to watch it in January and February, cause when it is sunny and clear, it's going to be scary cold. She didn't believe me and she would turn up in less than appropriate kit because "it looked warm".

Denver Cold, Chicago Cold & NY cold are 3 totatly different colds. I'd much rather Denver cold. It's dry there. I'm on the water and it's ok until the wind is moving the moisture onto land. I can imagine Chicago being frigid with what the winds brings in.

Some of the coldest colds I ever experienced were up in the NW Pa. Alleghenies, in the mountains (hills?) behind Buffalo, N.Y. That Arctic Express would come outta the Great White North, across Lake Erie and hit us a ton! If it was bad in Buffalo, we had it worse! I loved it as a kid, but happy to be enjoying Fla. now that I'm older! (I can work on/drive LBCs all year!)
