thinking of adding a WOSP starter. just looking for some info on the wiring.

i am running a negative ground with an alternator. So i have a 10g wire that runs back from the alternator to the current starter relay to charge the battery.

1) do most use the stock relay/solenoid?
2) wiring layout to either use or not use the existing relay/solenoid?

I chose to keep the original starter relay/solenoid when the high torque starter was installed. An easy to make "10G" jumper wire was required for the new starter. Good luck with the WASP starter - I like the newer starter versions coming out that are smaller, weigh less and put out lots of torque.

i take it then you just have a jumper on the starter to that solenoid also on the starter.
 
I tossed the original solenoid and use the one built into the high-torque unit. Less wires and one less component to possibly fail.
 
The one i bought was a LMS005 i believe. that seemed to be the same one that Moss carries. i bought mine from Amazon.

If your inquiry is addressed to me (as I did use the words "high torque" in my post) I was speaking generically and perhaps should have more accurately described the unit as a "pre-engaged starter" whjich I think is the proper designation. I got mine from British Starters and do not know the manufacturer or what the claimed "torque" is.

I bought a wasp for my 1973 MGB but wires are too short to reach WOSP starter. Has anyone hooked up one of these yet?
