Been away for a while,
go involved in building the worlds largest aircraft
It is a Paul Allen Project being built out in Mojave Ca.
here is the Youtube video
very cool, I learned a lot about Carbon Fiber and composites:joyous:

How cool is that!

That is really cool and an excellent concept, however wouldn't it be more of an evolutionary idea than revolutionary? I'm pretty sure the USAF had the same concept with the X-1 back in the forties.

I still want to see development of a space elevator (in my lifetime).

Looks a little like a 747-z "zwilling"

Even the hanger door opening would impress me...

The "Spruce Goose" is not too far away from me. I always enjoy seeing it... but THIS new plane (or plans for it) are amazing.

As a pilot I can't imagine landing that behemoth while not seated on the center-line of the fuselage. It just wouldn't feel right to me.

As a Pilot, imagine this, the FIRST designs
they had the pilot and crewstation,
sitting up in the left rear upright tail section.
The pilots refused, put their foot down and said
"NO FREAKING WAY!!!!!!"

Years ago, I flew up to Bradley to see the world's largest plane at that tine - the Antonov An-222. It was here to pick up some medical supplies and raise money for the Chernobyl victims. The interior was very crude with a spirit level inside to show when the plane was sitting level. There were some Ukrainian women - fat with babushkas on their heads - selling t-shirts and sweat shirts. I bought a couple for my kids. They hated the pilots and crew who were Russian. You could put a 747 on each wing and it had 16 wheels, each about 10 feet high. There was a fight between the 2 FBO's as to who would fuel the plane but they agreed to split it. The plane took off and flew to Russia where it refueled before flying on to Kiev. While parked, all the medical supplies were stolen. The plane was literally a white elephant. No one bought one and I don't believe they ever made another one. Check it out on You Tube.

that's amazing PD.
it must have taken 10 commercial tractor trailers to steal all those medical supplies..........but I guess no body saw a thing, right?
