Works rally tribute car... sorta done

HealeyPassionJr said, "Very cool to see the works car finally done.....I speak for your whole family when I say......WELCOME BACK." Son, are you saying that my passion has become an obsession that is obvious the family??....hmmm.... hard to belive!

I'm excited about you getting Craig's BN6... and I'm guessing there may be a project or two in it for me. Maybe that's why you're glad I finally finished my works rally car?

See you on Friday.

Cheers,
Steve, aka Dad

BN6? Please, full details  Can we look forward to "papers" on this project too?

Thanks for the clock info, a "twin" would look so nice in my new interior (just wish they were 1/2 the cost...).

Randy, the BN6 is a standard model... no overdrive, no adjustable steering wheel, and no wire wheels. The paint is 30yr old lacquer but looks pretty good from 10ft... may less. The engine was also rebuilt 30ish years ago, only has a few thousand miles on it and runs great. All rust was addressed 30yrs ago when I painted it. Beyond that, recently it has had a new gas tank, rebuilt radiator, and brakes. So it's a pretty solid little driver.

Projects?... well, HealeyPassionJr already is asking for some "personalizations" that he would like done, by what he calls SEM (Steve's equipment manufactureing)... hmmm. This would be easier if I didn't live in the Denver area and he lives in Reno.

There are a few pics of it on my website as it is today. Link to 1959 100/6 BN6

Cheers,
Steve

Greg,
Well, glad to hear that you are getting into the club! After all it is in your blood, what with both a father and uncle having healeys. Congrats on the new baby. Did the Xterra survive the Bonneville salt?

What kind of "personalizations" do you have planned for your new Healey?

Lin

Finally getting back in.....new baby and new job at same time makes for busy times.

Personalization, well HealeyPassion just spent 2 weeks with me, doing grandpa duty, and we have a great list.
1. Remove front bumper
2. Driving light brackets
3. Rear bumperettes
4. Carpet kit for center/footwells/tire
5. Remount Seats (to the floor, as far back as possible)
6. Minilites bolt on’s
7. New wiring harness
8. Derrington style 15ā€ wheel
9. New/Used Tonneau (Black)
10. Pedal spacing
11. Install Pertronix ignition
12. Install aluminum valve cover
13. Cut rear exhaust pipes (which are long even with bumper)

----If anyone is selling, let me know. I would love to find used on most stuff.

--Also I have a plan, we are going to get the BN6 from Chicago to Colorado this winter (but not all the way to Reno), then I can come out for Colorado Springs conclave over July 4th. Then POSSIBLY, Dad and I want to caravan both Healeys to Reno (which he is going to attend Hot August Nights with his next year in Aug).

Looks like a great list to get going. Of all of my "personalizations" I think cruise control is my favorite. For us taller folks, if you are driving very far it is nice to straighten out the right leg everynow and then.

Have fun and good luck!
Lin

Lin, you may notice that Greg's timeline has the BN6 in CO for a while before the July 2011 Conclave... hmmm... might be a planned opportunity to get a jump start on the personalization list.

Cheers,
Steve
