Work boots recommendations?

Offline
I need a really good (read comfortable) set of waterproof work boots that are going to last me a long while (for work at my new job at the water copany)... I'm willing to spend up to $80... I've looked at Timerlanes, Doc Martins, and a few others... What do you all recommend? Anything that Academy Sports sells would be ideal, as they just opened one up in my area.

I have a set of Wolverines from JC Pennys. THey've held up well so far, and I'm NOT easy on boots.I'll probably buy another pair, so that's saying a lot. I went through several pair of 70-90$ boots that lasted for 6 mo or less. these have held up for over a year now. Leather uppers, so they require treatment to be truely waterproof.
Red Wings are good too.

Herman Survivors have always held up good for me. I wore them a lot when I was around highway construction. I guess I haven't been retired long enough, I still miss the work but I don't miss some of the people I had to work with! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Kenny, I may have been out of the loop a bit.

But this is the greatest post.

I am so happy for you. Patrick

I wear wolverines exclusively. I wear my work boots more than any other pair of shoes so I spend big bucks on them. Wolverines also seem to last longest, usually better than 2 years, in a powerplant environment. Treat em with neats foot oil regularly to keep tham supple and waterproof

Red Wing or Wolverines

I bought a pair of Wolverines today... thanks for the tips guys. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Haha Kenny, no pic of the boots??

Well, best take a change of shoes for driveing. Think they would cover all three spots.
