The team with 4 of its starters playing injured. The team with its 'ace' reliever out for the season. The team that shouldn't have made playoffs, shouldn't have beat the Padres, shouldn't have beat the Mets are playing in the World Series.

I love it. Call us underdogs all you want. We've gotten used to it. It took us the last game of regular season to get to playoffs. The last game of the division series to get to the World Series. We played 7 games against Detroit in 1968. We'll play 7 games again if we have to.

I remember the '68 series. Grew up listening to Cardinal baseball on the radio with my gramma and aunts. I was 15 that year. Curt Flood, Julian Javier, Brock, Orlando Cepada, Shannon, McCarver, Maris & Maxville, Ted Simmons, Spiezo. Great ball players. Just like we have now.

Gotta love RED OCTOBER!!!
