WOOHOO!!....and seat question

Well I couldn't stay away from TR6 ownership...sooo if everything goes smoothly I'll have a 1975 BRG TR6 in my driveway next weekend...I bought it from a dancer who has used it as her only car for the last 10 years, but recently has let it sit in the driveway for about a year....Overall it's a little worse than that last brown one I had, but not by much....and I figure once I take care of a little bodywork and buff up the paint it'll make a great looking driver(BRG is soooo much nicer than brown), it's got an aftermarket hardtop and a nice rollbar too! Sorry, no pics yet, but I'll try an get some asap.

Now for the first question:
The seat bottoms have seen better days, the foam is still good, just the cover is ripped(and taped) can I get just a new cover somewhere? Or does someone have some black seat bottoms they wanna sell?

I was hoping I could buy just covers for the bottoms....The tops are fine.....and MOSS's entire seat kit is worth almost as much as I paid for the entire friggin car!

Might be a good time to look for Miata seats or anything other model that will do well as replacements.

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonono.gif No modern/aftermarket seats fer me....Not my style....Worse case is I bring the bottoms in for reupholstering, but if someone has a set of used(but unripped) seats they wanna sell that would be even sweeter.

Where is the tear? If it is in the surround panel or the side panel, an upholsterer can probably replace the damaged vinyl. The center diamond area would be hard to duplicate.

Re: Seat covers...

I ordered a full set for my Spit from Owen at Park Lane Classics...through his Ebay store. I believe he makes them himself...would most likely do one seat bottom for you.

I am very pleased thus far with the ones I bought from him.

Re: Seat covers...

Doug, I am not 100% sure...I haven't picked up the car yet...all I remember it they were damaged...Hopefully it's just the side.
Lionheart, thanks for the advice...I'll check it out!

Can't blame the guy for trying...

Re: Seat covers...

Well I just confirmed pickup at 10am Saturday....I can't wait! I talked to her on the phone earlier and the more I learn about it the better it sounds; she just had the front end completely rebuilt at a cost of $2500, and the entire braking system rebuild as well in the last year. Right now she hasn't been able to start it due to a dead battery(possible drain) so it's been sitting awhile, but I am betting I'll have it running and driving within an hour or so of getting home.

You realise that there is more than one way to read this /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

Re: Seat covers...

Now you guys have gone and done it....I can't, for the life of me, stop fantizing about that dancer lady. If she were a blond then she would surely be a DPO. I have always been impressed with any babe that not only drives a TR6 but owns one. A little tidbit...94% of all new TR6s sold to men. A babe in a TR6, ya gotta lovem. That said, we love you too, Jaybird.

Re: Seat covers...

Ok, ok...calm down! Not that i wanna fuel the fire but as I just posted in the chick cars thread, this was her 4th TR6...and TR6's are the only cars she's ever owned.
