Woodstock Pay Rates

1) Janis Joplin
2) Jimmy Hendrix
3) Santana
4) CCR
5) The Who

Only reason Hendrix isn't #1 is that I DID see him in his prime.

No need to rub it in!

Unfortunately my teenage years coincided with the late 70s, early 80s when most of the best bands were gone or past their best and I never could get on with the bands that were popular then. Although I did get to see Yes, Genesis, Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd, Clapton and a few others although I missed Rush because my mates minivan broke down on the way.

Didn't make it to Woodstock, but between the Newport Jazz Festival a month before and The Boston Tea Party in the months afterward, I saw a lot of the Woodstock performers live. Here's the ones I recall: Jeff Beck, Ten Years After, Jethro Tull, Fleetwood Mac, Grateful Dead, Joe Cocker, Sha Na Na, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Johnny Winter, Santana and Neil Young. The ones I would have loved to have seen from Woodstock were: The Who, Hendrix, and Janis Joplin. I've been a Jeff Beck fan ever since and he's still got the chops. Take a look at this one:

Carlos Santana still sounds great as well.
