Milo passed his safety check today, just a warning for no defroster or windshield fluid receptacle.

So I'll be driving (legally) for the first time since I brought him home!!!

Excellent! Enjoy some driving for me.

Warning for no defroster or windshield washer receptical?
Glad I don't live there. I have neither!
Congrats on getting it on the road....drive it like ya stole it!

Duncan, when you're done having fun, could you send me a picture of your throttle mechanism at the carb end?

thanks

What a beaut! That's the color my car was (and will be again soon!) I love it!

So, the turn signal fluid was full?

Yes, and the muffler bearings were in good shape... thank heavens I'd remembered to replace them!

I'm just glad he didn't have a problem with the complete absence of smog pump, charcoal canister etc.

Hi JP,

Can do! It's not very pretty at the moment, I fabbed a sheet metal 'fan' to attach the throttle cable and return spring to. But I've just received a bag of throttle parts from Redline, so I'll take some before & after pix.

-D

thanks

Hey Now!

Be careful of the "muffler bearings".. Believe it or Not, and you should believe it, because it's true.

Mercedes Benz on the early 190D when they were sedans in the early, mid 50's had "muffler bearings"...

When you went to the parts department to buy the rubber/metal rings that held the exhaust system, and specifically the muffler up, they were called, by Mercedes Benz in their parts catalog.

"Muffler Bearings"...

Hehehe... yes Ron, I actually knew that, a fellow on another board of which I'm a member uses it as his screen name!

OK, I promised pictures of the throttle linkage... I'll be changing the hardware later today.

That little hook is perfect for the return spring... But mine is not nearly strong enough, leading to a sticky throttle. I'll be changing it out today, but I wish I could think of a way to use the CD150's compression spring instead.
