Woo Hoo! I found a 210 Box

I purchased a Datsun 210 box from a fellow enthusiast for my Bugeye. The good news is I got it for short money. The bad news is the rear mount is damaged. Apparantly, it came from an upstate NY car that was exposed to cold, wet and salt. The rear steel rear transmission mount had been left on the transmission and over time the galvanic action between the steel mount and aluminum trans caused the rear mount to break. Looking at it, it appears there is enough solid aluminum square enough to TIG a piece of aluminum bar stock into place. Or I did talk to the Rivergate guys and they said they might have an extra rear case.

Also, I bit the bullet and bought all the panels I need to repair my Bugeye shell. So hopefully, soon I'll be out in the garage, cuttin', grindin' and welding!

Good luck with all your body and transmission work. Looks like you'll have plenty of chances to improve your welding skills.

Yep, that's why I've been searching for a better shell. Of course as soon as I get this one welded up a nice inexpensive shell will come along! But I better get busy or it will never get done. The good thing is I've collected and rebuilt so many parts now, once I get the body done, it should go back together somewhat quickly. yeah right! lol

Good luck with that! I've had finished assemblies ready to be reinstalled for months, and they're still sitting on the shelf.
