Won't do that again

I go to local cruise nights, some chartiy shows, and as many Brit shows as I can. I do not go for the trophies, if I wanted trophies, I would have painted my car RED!
When the Scouts put on a show, I go and it's pretty much just a donation for them. They have plaques and sometimes I win.
I went to a car dealer sponsored show once where there were 2 AC Cobras. 1 was a red kit car, the other a genuine 289 original. Guess who won? And the owner of the original grabbed the mic, spoke his mind to the crowd, told them they had voted for cheap reproduction car and that he would NEVER show his rare classic car ever again. I applauded this guy as did a few of the other old car owners. But yeah, the Corvette and Mustang guys called him an -$$ and went about their night.
I once won in a brit car show and beat out the guy with the perfect 1700 mile concours Sprite. I even voted for his car.
His was better than mine, I knew it, but mine was "different" with the Speedwell nose so it attracted more popular votes.
In my opinion, that was just WRONG. I have also lost to a brush painted Sprite, his was red, mine was yellow. There were a few other Sprites in the line much better than the brush painted red car but like I said, want a trophy, paint it red.
I have even put on a couple of car shows for a charity group. I had a guy in a Jag ask where his award was? I said you did not get enough votes (popular) he demanded a recount! This particular show was set up by year so he lost to a muscle car of the same year.
My all time favorite was a judged local show and the judge asked me to "Raise the hood" so I started to erect the top

I am not disapointed due to not wining. I am disapointed in the folks/judges that have no clue as to what they are doing.

Now could I judge a show full of 30s cars, noop. But still, there is workmanship to consider, rairity of the car etc etc.

I just can not understand how they go about this. Oh yea no one from the sponcering club could enter but they had vehicles there, some nice ones.

I will go to one more show here in the localish area, Pensolca meet Apr 15th. It is all Brit cars so at least folks should have a good idea of what they are looking at. Will be fun to talk to others as well and see what is about.
